Actor Natalie Gavin, best known for her roles in Line of Duty, Ackley Bridge, Gentleman Jack, and the award-winning film The Arbor, has announced the launch of Natalie Gavin Acting (NGA) Screen Acting – a new series of classes and workshops designed to support and inspire the next generation of screen actors.

Delivered by established screen professionals, NGA classes and workshops, based at Burley Road in Leeds, are open to beginners, intermediates, and anyone with an interest in acting or wanting to boost their confidence. The classes are built around creating a safe space - a place where participants can learn, experiment, and even fail without fear of judgement. Drawing on her own journey, Natalie encourages students to “learn from my mistakes” while gaining practical tools and confidence for the screen.
Born in Bradford and raised not far from the Buttershaw estate – the setting of The Arbor by award-winning writer and director Clio Barnard, her breakout project about playwright Andrea Dunbar – Natalie is passionate about giving back to her community and supporting people from backgrounds like her own.

Speaking about the launch of NGA, Natalie said:
“I’m Yorkshire through and through, and I’ve always loved my strong accent, it’s a big part of who I am. Growing up, I didn’t see many people like me on screen, but I was determined to chase my dream. That’s why I am running these sessions and classes, and provide guest workshops with people such as Sonia Allam who is a Casting Director based in the north. I want to give others from working-class, Yorkshire roots the belief that they can do it too. I want people to know that their voice, their story, and their background are strengths, not barriers.”
With almost 20 years of experience across television, film, and theatre, and 13 years teaching, Natalie has mentored, trained and coached young actors into their first on screen roles. She brings unique insight into the realities of the industry. Her mission is to help aspiring actors from all walks of life find their confidence, discover their own style, and take their first steps towards a career in screen acting.
Natalie has been coaching and mentoring 25 year-old Bafta nominated Samuel Bottomley who is recognised for his performance in Somewhere Boy (2022) and How to Have Sex (2023). “I can confidently say I owe a lot of my career to Natalie. We started working together when I was only 13, I was a shy, quiet mumbling boy who backed away from the idea of stepping out my comfort zone. Natalie broke down scripts and introduced me to different techniques getting me to where I needed to be and I’ve taken these tools with me throughout my career. Natalie is one the most hard working, passionate and emotionally intelligent actors in the business, her due diligence and respect for the craft is something that has always inspired me. Even now, I still chose to work with Natalie when prepping for new work as the results I have with her are unmatched to anyone else.
Fans will also see Natalie appear as Detective Sergeant Susan in the much anticipated seven-part ITV drama The Hack, starring David Tennant and Toby Jones out this week.
